I only did this when I had a muscle imbalance, I had to focus on each individual press because the imbalance makes it naturally push improperly and not straight so I had to only focus on one push at a time till I built enough muscle and muscle memory to push both at the same time

This only applies for split squats. If you do lunges you can alternate between legs. I do tend to do one leg at a time but I will just alternate from now on. And just increase the weight to, maximise hypertrophy and save time.
Why add fatigue to the movement. Unless you are injured and can't go heavy or are working on balance in a particular sport, you shouldn't do this exercise.

Yup, I find any alternating exercise (even lunges strangely) bore me to pieces. Love OHP, hate alternating presses. Love Barbell/Dumbbell rows, HATE single arm rows. Adding extra time to a movement is basura.

That's more optimum.
It's not a curl if you're extending your arms out. The resistance is stronger the bigger angle your elbow makes (if you keep your elbows together), unlike curls where the resistance is in lifting towards your body.
I never know if he's sarcastic or not, so I always have to stay till the end...
